What is Food for Funds (FFF)? How did it come about? How useful is it? Why October?

FFF is an annual fundraiser for Helps International (HINT), a Christian community developement NGO based in Buea, South West of Cameroon in sub-sahara Africa.

Funds raised from FFF are used entirely to help rural people (especially women) come out of poverty by providing them with training and loans to start or grow their businesses. FFF was launched in 2007 and thte first FFF event in the United States of America (USA) was pioneered by Brian & Christe Dodds in Arlington, Texas. They invited close to 20 people at their home and together they raised close to US$ 3,000 that was used to support over 25 women.
